Abundance, duty and desert

Duty doesn't kick in until we experience abundance and security. Duty is an artifact of gratitude, which, in turn, is an artifact of desert.

The appreciation of desert needs the context of abundance and security for it to kick in. To build a society on the principles of desert requires the achievement and the recognition of abundance and security.
