The difference principle vs the deservedness principle

The difference principle is Rawls' way of implementing the sova point. To say that endowments beyond a basic social minimum become common assets to be used for the sake of the least in society is to posit a social sova point beyond which satiation requires the well endowed to dedicate themselves to the common good rather than to the improvement of their own welfare (albeit the improvement of one’s well being could go on indefinitely).
The question is what is the basis of the difference principle? Rawls would presumably argue it comes from the allocation from behind the veil of ignorance. We would argue, in contrast, that it comes from a proper understanding of the notion of justice as deservedness: Society denominates as common all those endowments that are undeserved. The issue is not private vs. public or common property, the issue is deserved or undeserved endowments.
