The strategy of the biblical regime

The biblical regime presents a democratic ideology as seen from the legitimate perspective rather than, as is usually the case in political philosophy and teachings, as seen from the authoritative perspective. The story of the reign of a God in political covenant with Israel depicts a story of the politics of civil society.

We always presume the lower classes are ungovernable and easily misled, which is true, but it doesn't have to be that way. If the lower classes were infused with dignity, the ruling classes wouldn't have such an easy time of getting the better of the lower classes. That's the strategy of YHWH's biblical regime: to raise the dignity of the lower classes so as to insulate them from the abuses that would otherwise regularly be inflicted on them by the ruling classes.
