Greek & Hebrew

The Greeks deal with problems of hubris in terms of gods having intercourse with humans, and the challenges of heroism and tragedy; the Hebrews deal with problems of hubris in terms of God in covenant with Man and Israel, and the challenges of leadership and national quest.
Greeks like heroes in the context of battle; Hebrews like leaders in the context of institutions of governance.
Jesus is a hybrid of Greek and Hebrew, man and god, hero and leader, dramatic protagonist and shaper of the Church.
