Opposites do not cancel each other

Tragedy is the clash of two equally valid ways of treating a problem.
In a tragedy both contending sides of the matter are valid from their own perspectives. Tragedies are the resolution of opposites that allows the drama to achieve a whole.
From a holistic perspective opposites do not cancel each other out, they are manifestations of each other in different realities and across different contexts. That is why theses and anti-theses can result in syntheses.
