Ownership reflects merit

Commons are a different sort of property right.
When we move our thinking about ownership from exclusively in terms of property and begin rather to think about ownership in terms of belonging we can imagine ownership as resulting from grants that reflect merit rather than capture that reflects avarice.
Property would then flow more to those who deserve it and less to those who are most hungry for it.
