The limiting case of honor is worship.
The deep impulse to follow someone who can lead finds its expression in the self-discipline of honor and in the other-discipline of worship.
Is worship will or desire? In any case, it is intense.
When worship becomes too intense it becomes fanatical, and with fanaticism, honor bleeds into the worship of death.
Death cults are really honor cults taken to impossible extremes.
