Whose side are you on is also a matter of whose side are you against.
The alliances of hate and distrust that govern broadly all around the Arab world operate in terms of unity in common opposition rather than in affiliation. None combine with each other but various configurations of cooperation go into temporary effect when they join in common opposition to an even more despised other.
As such the Jews offer a target that is almost irresistible.
