A killer rather than a builder

In a society where power/challenge is the customary mode of rule the logic of the marketplace does not work. 

In the marketplace, the market leader does not necessarily eliminate the market followers. Elimination from the market can only happen from internal forces. 

In a world of power/challenge success comes less from self-improvement and more from the defeat of and the expropriation of the competitor. 

It makes sense, in a power/challenge society, to become a killer rather than a builder.
