The subject's honor derive's from the honor of the sovereign.
The ability of a people to live by an honor code depends on whether the sovereign has reverence and is self-regulating in his own actions. Because honor is the willingness to conduct oneself according to some code of self-regulation, the subject's willingness to submit his will to the sovereign's will depends on whether the sovereign is temperate in the exercise of his own will.
The courage of the subject derives from the temperance of the sovereign. By the same logic, the justice of the sovereign should derive from the prudence of the subjects.
