Envy crosses the boundary of another's choq. It works against the respect we have for what belongs to another when he deserves what belongs to him.
Envy eradicates the instinct for desert. That is why it completes the Decalogue.
- Gratitude recognizes one's own undeservedness;
- Envy ignores the deservedness of another.
