One law for all

Reflexive honor (lex talionis) in the ancient world and class honor in the medieval world are both surrogates for the rule of law.
So too does class honor replace the notion of a legal order that dictates and governs conduct.
The notion of one law for all of a nation's subjects is anathematic to the notion of class rule.
