• Deservedness is appropriate apportionment. 
• Appreciation is a measure of appropriateness. 
• Appropriateness is a question of fit. 
• Fit is a matter of design and of justice. 
• Fit as justice is what we call 'due'. 
• Fit as a matter of personality is what we call identity, a sense of knowing where and to whom one belongs. 
• Hubris is a defect in identity as it applies to man and God.
