The sova point across the generations

As a parent we get to experience what it feels like to consider our own welfare as sub-ordinate to the welfare of others; and as a grand-parent we feel that way much of the time.
That feeling is the sova point as deployed over time, across the generations.
What we have yet to measure is the inclination to sub-ordinate our own welfare to the welfare of others in societies that facilitate such sub-ordination in an effective way.
