Every social system needs a spell where the established order is turned upside down and where hierarchy is abolished in favor of abject equality.
Carnival is such a time, but carnival is purely symbolic in character. Sheviit is another such a time, but sheviit has the advantage of being actual.
Sheviit lasts for a year, during which time the lower classes take over the authority from the upper classes.
