All that rigor can achieve

The mathematicians, like Godel, who deal with the limits of systematic thought, are really highlighting how it is that the sum of the parts is less than the whole. That is all that rigor can achieve. 
The intuitive, on the other hand, can address the other side of that limit and talk about how the whole is greater than the sum of the parts. For the whole to be greater we need poetry and drama.
