The alternation of hemispheres, with their mutually inhibitory activities, starts and ends on the right and invokes the left hemisphere as the meat in the sandwich.
Right/left/right is how people see the world.
- First people explore and ground their experience in the whole of what is being presented to them; then
- they analyze and narrow the focus so they can act on whatever it is to which the right hemisphere has drawn their attention; and finally
- they take what they've done and they fit it back into the larger whole so that it makes sense once again as a whole.
