An alliance between banker and municipal leadership

As the automobile is an inefficient and excessive way of transporting someone so is the suburban home an inefficient and excessive way of housing someone.
Homes became the symbols of status and distinction and so became vehicles for conspicuous consumption and the excess it triggered.
As the corporation was an alliance between the merchant and the monarch to shape the political order in favor of the market transaction, so the suburb was an alliance between the banker and the municipal leadership to shape the social order in favor of the market-based asset.
