Efficiency is about making the doing of things easy, but by making things easy to do we make them less meaningful and less satisfying.
In a culture where things have to be easy for them to get consideration in the first place, it's difficult for anything that gets done to deliver satisfaction.
Easy is the ethic of material systems but not necessarily the ethic of non-material systems.
‘The greater the pain, the greater the reward’ describes the satisfaction that comes of deservedness.
