Jews oppress themselves

What makes the Jewish people in diaspora different from other peoples is not the degree of oppression (for many peoples have been and are oppressed in their own homelands) but the source of the oppression.
Jews oppress themselves. The indoctrination of servility comes from the people themselves. It is not the authorities (native or foreign) who are oppressing the Jewish people, it is the Jewish grass roots themselves.
It is rare that oppressive doctrines are imposed not by the authorities but by the legitimacies. You can't overthrow the legitimacies so how do you change the social order of an ingrained self-legitimation of oppression?
