Heidegger has his own version

God is the ground of Creation and He is also the outcome of creation. 

God emerges from a society built on the principles of creativity. In between, God disappears from view. 

That God promises, at the conclusion of the Chumash, to hide His face is in recognition of this intermediate state when Man must go off on his own to build the society that could engender God on the other end. 

Heidegger has his own version where man is verfallen but searches for the authenticity that constitutes Dasein. At the collective, social level, a society with Dasein is one that knows God in its midst. It is a society that pulses with life.
