Neo-classical economics is much about mishpat and hardly at all about choq.
At bottom the institution of private property is about choq, not mishpat, and neo-classical economics takes private property as axiomatic, while at the same time eschewing questions of distribution that go to the matter of choq.
Rawls reframes justice-as-fairness in terms of self-interest so that it too can come under the rubric of mishpat.
