The sova line

Needs are what are below the sova line. Above or beyond the sova line our consumption stops being of what we need and starts being of luxuries. 
Yes the valuation of the good varies with the quantity consumed but something else also changes as the person moves across the sova line – he enters into a new cultural context, from need to luxus, from scarcity to abundance, from market exchange to gift exchange.
