Within the context of covenant

Satiation is a crucial element of covenantal relationships. 
Covenantal partners cannot exhaust each other because they depend on each other for survival. 
Within the context of covenant, excess for oneself implies exhaustion for one's partner. To eschew excess is 
  1. to recognize to complementarity of the covenantal relationship; and 
  2. to extend one's identity to comprehend the covenantal unit.
