Starvation, sustenance, satiation, excess

The four classes of material wealth are starvation, sustenance, satiation, excess.
  • Starvation exhausts the ability of the being to sustain itself materially;
  • sustenance exhausts the ability of the being to sustain itself non-materially;
  • satiation is the optimum point where the being is able to sustain itself both materially and non-materially;
  • excess mirrors sustenance in that it sustains the material existence but it corrodes the non-material existence.
Both luxury and impoverishment are bad for the soul; starvation, of course, is like enslavement and is bad for body and soul; satiation, sova, is that golden mean where material and non-material possibilities can be exploited and fulfilled fully.
