The context for decision-making

  • Reverence forces the context for decision-making to comprehend more than the decision-maker's universe.
  • Reverence situates the decision-maker such that he needs to take into consideration interests other than his own.
  • Reverence inclines the decision-maker to consider the trade-off between his own interests and those of other stakeholders in the system, be they superior or inferior to the decision-maker.
  • Reverence is a way to internalize welfare considerations into the individual decision-making of each of the agents in a system.
  • Reverence means the whole goes beyond any single player.
