Ecological considerations become binding on the economic system when the scale of the economy rivals the scale of that ecological order which contains the economic order. Growth of the economy eventually forces ecological considerations onto the economic order. In a world where reverence operates, the ecological considerations kick in immediately, long before growth forces the matter, because respecting each stake-holder's claims on the ecological pie happens even when the scale does not impinge the economy onto the ecology.
