What the second law of thermodynamics says is that all process results in waste, that the movement of time means the ineluctable degradation of God's Creation whether or not Man is involved, and that Man cannot reverse that degradation, he can only accelerate it or slow it.
The first law of thermodynamics is a law that guarantees the conservation of matter and energy. It says, no matter how much we try to abuse it, God's Creation is indestructible. The second law says, no matter how much we try to preserve it, God's Creation is winding down.
