The separation of Church and State typically refers to the Church not using the police powers of the State to impose its doctrine on the civil population, be they adherents or non-adherents.
The laws of sheviit work in a different direction. They muster the laws of the State to defend the property rights of the divine, to maintain a voice for the un-voiced, be they God, the poor and orphaned and widowed, or future generations.
