The party of extractive capitalism

Global corporations, especially those corporations that depend on extraction for their profits, favor autocracy over democracy. 

That's what's been going on with the Republican Party. It's the party of strongman rule because it's the party of extractive capitalism because it's the party most seriously in the grip of the resource curse.
