Where Torah and civics come together

To sustain a sophisticated form of government requires an informed and engaged electorate. The government must teach the people how to wield wisely the power that was placed in their hands. 

The Orthodox obsession with the study of Talmud needs to be harnessed to address a broader educational goal: general instruction in civics. 

First, we need to devise an understanding whereby Torah and civics come together. Then, we need to establish institutions that convey the civic lessons to the general public. 

Today, in Israel, the former is lacking and the latter is performed by IDF. Therefore, we need to devise an understanding whereby Torah and civics come together such that IDF can teach it. That's the mission.
