In the full maturity of the American democracy most of the real decisions are made outside the infra-structure of government. The real government function is happening in spite of the political machinery of the democracy rather than through it.
The ruling elite’s ability at an industrial scale to manipulate public discourse has undermined the democratic processes and has destabilized the ship of the democratic state.
