Peoples are born out of the collapse of empires.
The State of Israel was born out of the detritus of the collapse of two empires: first the Ottoman and then the British. It was also born out of the heaped corpses of millions of murdered European Jews. One day 'the West' will lose its purchase on world domination. That will be the time for the Jewish people in the State of Israel to forge a new way of life and of government. Until then there's plenty to do by way of preparation.
Independence came not from Jewish acts of heroism on the battlefield but from Zionists having prepared the path to statehood for when imperial resistance would become weakened.
