Hatred in a society reaches its peak when the wealth of the hated class comes across to the hating class as undeserved.
People need explanations for why things are the way they are in society. The basis of explanation in the realm of social mechanics is deservedness. Wealth that comes from past positions of prestige which are now defunct, inherited wealth that does not correspond to and no longer reflects the vitality of those who originally accumulated the wealth, such wealth is resented and invites hatred and retribution, if not retaliation.
The undeserved wealth of the petro-despots is likely one of the strongest arguments Israel can make in her own defense.
