Caring is a measure of stewardship.
Caring has to do with how we relate to the intermediate elements of our welfare, the things we need to service for the sake of our ultimate ability to maximize our welfare, which welfare we achieve through the utility of things we have to consume.
Caring and contentment measure how we are as a result of what we have. Our caring refers to what is prior to our acts of consumption while our contentment refers to what follows on from our act of consumption.
Contentment measures how much we have fulfilled our deservedness; caring measures how much we experience the deservedness of another.
