Reciprocation and deservedness

Reciprocation is the mechanism of deservedness. One earns one's keep either ex-ante or ex-post by reciprocating. Even vengeance is a reciprocation that is intended to right an imbalance and is meant to restore justice.
Both distributive justice and punitive justice have at their core the notion of deservedness, and therefore of reciprocation. Whether a voluntary act or a willfull act, the conduct of reciprocation is guided by justice.
Both the resource curse, the taking of unearned wealth to oneself rather than distributing it to others, as well as greed, the keeping of gifts without passing them on, are unjust insofar as they impair reciprocation.
