Trades and gifts and vengeance

Both trades and gifts are reciprocal. By virtue of their being reciprocal they are voluntary.
Vengeance is also reciprocal and it is an expression of will. Domination of one agent by another is the cessation of reciprocation. So domination and greed both have the property of ending the reciprocation that is fundamental to proper functioning of society.
Reciprocation maintains covenantal balance. To violate the reciprocation imperative is to imbalance or disequilibrate the covenantal relationship.
